Our goal is to work together with teachers to enhance the students’ academic journey by providing fun and exciting classes. Below is a list of the programs we are offering for the 2025/26 school:
Students will get a chance to meet a desert tortoise up close right in their classroom. This introduction to the animal world will share grade level facts about the featured animal and give children a chance to learn about them in a unique set up. Presentations will take 30 minutes and we recommend smaller groups (approx. 25 students) to give each child a chance to observe and ask questions. Animals currently available: desert tortoise, blue tongued skink and African Grey parrot. Please note that for younger children (grades K and below) we only recommend the Desert Tortoise meet and greet.
In this class, we will bring one or two animal ambassadors to the classroom and teach children about their unique adaptations to their habitats. Presentations will take 30-45 minutes.
This class will teach students all about reptiles from scales to adaptations. Presentations will take 15-30 minutes.
This class will teach students all about birds from feathers to adaptations. Presentations will take 15-30 minutes.
Younger students will learn how to differentiate a mammal, from a bird, from a reptile. A great introduction to the animal world. Presentations will take approximately 45 minutes.
This program will run in April/May. Nature Connect provides your classroom with ladybug or butterfly caterpillars. Students will set them up and be provided with a daily observation log. We will also provide pollinator plants’ seeds which students will plant and germinate in the classroom. At the end of our journey, these plants will be placed in a pollinator garden within school grounds and ladybugs and butterflies will be released. This program’s availability is dependent on grants so the earlier your classroom signs up, the better it is.
Would you like to bring topics such as plastic pollution, climate change, recycling (we offer a fun “Let’s Make Paper” recycling activity), endangered species and others to your classroom? Give us a call and we will be happy to customize a program to fit your needs.
Tell us your thoughts and we will make it happen! We are here to enhance your curriculum and inspire your students to be advocates for our planet.
